Rosemary's Baby (1968)
Feel let down
I was really looking forward to watching this and expecting a slow drip of a horror that builds and builds into a terrifiyng conclusion. I didn't get that. What I got was a the slow drip, the build up was great and little things being added making you constantly guess. The ending however was just plain awful, I really expected something MAJOR to happen to bring this to a close and I was given the very obvious "twist" if you can even call it that. When the music kicked in I was just saying to myself "no no no, this cant be over here, that cant be it!" then the credits rolled on and I'm afraid it was.
This really is a film that lets you down when it did such a great job of building you up. Its like lighting a huge firework, the largest in the box. Reading the instructions, setting it up, lighting the fuse, covering your ears... then it doesn't go off.
Cinderella Man (2005)
Very good
I had no idea what to expect from this film when i stuck it on (apart from boxing of course!) thinking how can this tell me a different story to whats been thrown at me already from the world of boxing films but I was pleasantly surprised. Im not a fan of Mr Crowe usually but I couldn't help but back him 100% during this film, not only in the fights but in the streets begging for work too.
The only criticism I can point out is that the pre/post final fight overplayed the hero business somewhat, I half expected in the end text to see written "After moving from Jersey, Braddock single handedly saved the world from terrorists on not once, but two occasions"
Aside from that, it was a very entertaining film 8/10
Creep (2004)
Not a bad film at all
It was a while ago a saw this movie but i thought id share a moment.... All through the movie there was 5/6 younger girls on the back row, giggling and talking all the way through the film and really annoying my friends + me, It got to the part where the homeless girl is strapped to the birthing table and "Craig" is going through the surgery motions, they are still giggling but as soon as he gets the knife and shoves it up her love chute, there came a shocked gasp and silence for the rest of the movie. That alone was worth my £5! Aside from that, the movie had some great moments that really made me jump (darkness and then the torch is turned on to show something resembling golem from LOTR in fullscreen) its no masterpiece and can be somewhat predictable, but its definitely worth a watch.
