Looks like a shake-up is happening in Culver City. After initially announcing release dates for “Kraven the Hunter” and “Karate Kid” during the 2024 Summer and Christmas seasons, Sony has decided to delay both films and swap their seasonal positions.
The upcoming “Karate Kid” movie, which sees Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan reprising their roles from various iterations of the franchise, was originally slated to hit theaters on December 13, 2024. The film will now open six months later on May 30, 2025. A source close to the project told IndieWire that the move will allow the final season of the Macchio-led series “Cobra Kai” to conclude before the film hits theaters. The new positioning also allows the family-friendly film to target a wider audience during summer vacation for many K-12 students.
The move was likely necessitated by the fact that “Cobra Kai” had its final season pushed back by the strikes that brought Hollywood...

Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work. But what does the future hold for Evil? The good news is you don’t need a prophet to find out. Portraying mental health issues and trauma on-screen isn’t a walk in the park. There’s a responsibility in discussing these subjects, a delicacy that shouldn’t be underserved, and breakout “Baby Reindeer” star Jessica Gunning takes this to heart. In playing the lonely stalker Martha on the autobiographical Netflix TV series from comedian Richard Gadd, Gunning chased down the opportunity to care for this character.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times recently, Gunning said, “I really thought, if this gets into the wrong hands and it ever gets played by an actress who sees her as scary, or plays a kind of crazy version of a stalker, I think you’d absolutely ruin what is such nuanced, careful, delicate storytelling.”
Gunning isn’t wrong. The plotting of “Baby Reindeer” is a high-wire act that deals in subject matters ranging from the struggles of success in absurdist comedy to sexual...

The Scottish King of England brought Nicholas Galitzine‘s George to his homeland for the purpose of digging up the embalmed heart of his first great love, Lord Lennox, encased in an iron ring. Lennox and James had the same age difference as James and George, viewers learned in the Friday, April 26 episode. James learned a lot from his older lover, though everyone around him at the time feared that the love wasn’t real between them, that James was being used. But their concern wasn’t for James’ true wellbeing, rather for the sake of the monarch and how his wellbeing affects everybody else. The show follows the Doctor, a time lord who travels across space and time in the Tardis (Time and Relative Dimension in Space), which looks like a police box and is bigger on the inside, with a companion (or several). David Cross and Bob Odenkirk made headlines in 2022 when they announced plans to reunite for the docu-style Paramount+ comedy “Guru Nation,” in which the “Mr. Show” masterminds were cast as rival cult gurus manipulating the minds of their deluded followers. On a recent podcast appearance, Cross said he believed that their Paramount+ series, which was in early development at Paramount Television Studios, was scrapped because the “marketing and analytics department” rejected it.
Cross and Odenkirk wrote and developed the show, which would have been an eight-episode limited series. He said the show’s pitch ignited a bidding war between four different networks.

“The Simpsons” fans are still reacting to the surprise death of Moe’s Tavern regular Larry Dalrymple — aka Larry the Barfly — on Sunday’s episode, “Cremains of the Day.” And “The Simpsons” co-executive producer Tim Long has the explanation for why the show did it.
“I’m sorry if some fans are upset, but we really wanted to use Larry’s death as a way to show that even the most peripheral people in our lives have dignity and worth, and that we really shouldn’t take anyone for granted,” Long wrote in an email shared with Variety. “To paraphrase Shakespeare,...

Another NCIS spinoff is coming to an end. CBS has canceled NCIS: Hawai’i after three seasons. The two-part series finale will air on April 29 and May 6. And given what series star Alex Tarrant (who plays Kai) previously told TV Insider, it sounds like fans are going to be left hanging. “There is definitely a special twist that comes in towards the end. It was a shock to me when I was reading the scripts, that’s for sure,” he said, adding that the finale “most definitely … ends on a cliffhanger.” NCIS: Hawai’i was the last current CBS show whose fate had yet to be decided. The network has renewed Tracker, The Neighborhood, NCIS, FBI (for three seasons), FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, Ghosts, Fire Country, NCIS: Sydney, S.W.A.T. (after it was previously supposed to be ending with the current seventh season), Elsbeth, and The Equalizer for the 2024-2025 season.

Station 19 is coming to an end, and fans are on edge as they wait to find out how their favorite characters’ storylines will wrap up. At the top of that worry list may be Carina (Stefania Spampinato) and Maya (Danielle Savre), known collectively by the Station 19 fanbase as Marina. The couple almost split up in Season 6, but set about building their family after adopting an orphan baby, Liam, in the Season 7 premiere. It’s been a long road for the couple, full of ups and downs. For co-showrunner Peter Paige, they were the characters that brought him into the Station 19 world. “My first episode of the show was their engagement. That’s the first episode I directed, the one where they fight the whole time and then they end up getting engaged at the end,” Paige told TV Insider at the Station 19 series wrap party. “I...

Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal) forever. Normal People premiered on April 26, 2020, right as the world plunged into a global pandemic. For many, Marianne and Connell’s journey in the Hulu series was an escape from the worries of our then-reality. Now, Edgar-Jones is looking back on the show that changed her life. “It is beyond crazy to me that Normal People premiered 4 years ago today,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “This show gifted me so much, primarily my best friends in the whole world. I hope Connell’s back in Dublin now and Marianne has grown out the micro fringe. Love you forever Np.” Her mention of hoping “Connell’s back in Dublin” will surely delight Normal People fans. On the surface, you probably won’t find too many similarities between “Bob’s Burgers” and “Metalocalypse.” One is a fairly wholesome animated workplace comedy about a long-suffering restaurateur and his family struggling to make ends meet while wacky hijinks ensue. The other is an animated black comedy about a death metal band so insanely popular, stupid, and violent that they might literally bring about the end of the world as we know it.
The commonality between them? A quarter-century ago, the co-creators of both shows worked together to create “Home Movies,” a cult classic adult animated sitcom about a precocious 8-year-old boy and his friends trying to navigate the perils of childhood while pursuing their passion for filmmaking. While the show never managed to attain the same mainstream popularity of “Bob’s Burgers” or receive multiple revivals like Metalocalypse, it’s still remembered fondly as a cult classic, even as it...

Michaels first turned heads back in 2021 when told CBS Mornings that the show’s 50th anniversary would “be a really good time to leave.” He’s since said that he hasn’t made up his mind either way.
