Swallow (2019)
Weird in the start but by the end it all makes sense
The metaphors were quite clear about her not being happy with the current life but showimg through pica was a whole new concept for me infact as she kept swallowing things (the level on the meter going high till the very end) it gets very cringy as you start imagining how it would be like which is where the horror comes in. The visuals are absolutely beautiful and as she tackles with the problem of pica the environment of the movie gets realistic unless when she stays in a mansion. The last 30 mins really uncover the why of this movie which is quite nicely shown.
Spotlight (2015)
Goosebumps multiple times
This movie just shows how little we know. The order of things in the movie is amazing and even the little things just takes you aback. The environment in the movie feels so raw. This is that movie that makes you think about the society and the system.
Geostorm (2017)
Amazing visuals
I love Gerard butler and sci fi movies. Im gonna to stand on the what i said about the visuals but when it comes to the story and logic, thats where things dint fall in place. I think mainly because they tried to put comedy in the movie through dialogues it really took away the feel of the loss from a disaster Movie. It felt like a 2012 rip off for some reason but with amazing visuals.
Sunflower (2021)
Mix and match of comedy and crime
It was a really different concept to be made in india- comedy and crime together. The actors have done an amazing job. The story is amazing with good amount of twists but somewhere i do feel like the editing was a little left out as in some scenes dint fit perfectly. The show makes you laugh cause the scenes might seem true but an amplified version of the truth. I do feel like they should have concluded the show and not extended it for season 2.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
An auditory experience
The sounds in this movie are amazing and which is what gets the horror, the transition of the sounds are so smooth cause not once did i feel the scary scenes were jumpscares or something i could get bored of. I absolutely love the cast and the way things have been shot. Although i do wish that they ended the series but i guess i could wait for part lll.
Inherent Vice (2014)
Stoner movie with stoner feels
I m not by any means putting down the stoner community, but when it comes to the movie i feel the character were a lot and i couldnt follow the relation of these characters to the doc. A hell of a twisted story that might have some philosophical meaning about inherent vices. As always i liked the camera angles and colour in the movie (neon-ish), however the end scene has to mean something that i havent figured out yet.
Enter the Void (2009)
Too long of a void
I like the neon, i like the concept of an out of body experience being shot through an Arial however somehow i found myself too distracted to focus on the story which is why i couldn't connect. The sounds do make you feel like youre into an astral journey. But i do feel like the movie was too long than it should be maybe it somehow represents the drug effects or maybe not.
The House That Jack Built (2018)
I want to say its beautiful but im still thinking how absurd this movie was
It started off very absurdly to the point it was hilarious but as it went on it kept on getting disturbing, making you angry and question jacks character. As always this movie from lars von trier as well was too twisted for me to understand.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
Iv finally watched it
Idk why i took so long to watch thisivie by David Fincher. I absolutely love his work and im so happy that iv finally completed his filmography. This film had so many layers which have been well put at the right time. The colour of the film is amazing. Rooney fits so well i love her.
Love Sonia (2018)
Trafficking and sister love
Im no one to make a comparison but this so much reminded me of frozen in a way maybe because sonia loves her sister so much she can to immeasurable heights but obviously blended with the sad reality of human trafficking. I cried twice by the end of the film and that just says it all.
Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016)
Amazing but sad truth about women Living in india
I like the fact the movies touches a serious topic but theres also places where they've chosen a lighter and comedic note to convey the point. Its sad but true how women are judged so brutally on their character even for the slightest common things like wearing clothes of their own choice, choosing partners, their career, their family life. The four characters of different ages in the same society (same house) try their best to deal with their lives but because the society as a whole cannot be changed the end makes one think on a lot of topics and how feminism is still needed.
