If you don’t know her name, Sally Ride is one of the most famous astronauts in history and one of the most important people in the history of NASA. An astronaut and physicist, Sally Ride joined NASA in 1978, and in 1983 became the first American woman – the third woman overall – to fly in space, after cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova (1963) and Svetlana Savitskaya(1982). She was the youngest American astronaut to have flown in space, having done so at the age of 32. But, aside from being a successful scientist, Sally Ride is also an icon of the LGBT community. Despite her marriage to astronaut Steven Hawley during her spaceflight years, Ride was later in a long-term relationship with former tennis player Tam O’Shaughnessy and is known as the first astronaut known to have been LGBT.

Bomer made his name on the USA drama series White Collar (2009-2014) and in films such as 2012’s Magic Mike. He later won Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards and was nominated for an Emmy for his turn in the 2014 HBO movie adaptation of Larry Kramer’s play The Normal Heart. Most recently, he has garnered some of the best reviews of his career for his portrayal of a closeted State Dept. employee in a decades-spanning secret relationship with another man on the 2023 Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers, for which he has already won a Peabody Award and been nominated for Golden Globe, SAG, Critics Choice and People’s Choice awards.

“Feud: Bette and Joan” took the Emmys by storm in 2017, with the first season of the Ryan Murphy anthology show receiving rave reviews for its depiction of the rivalry between actresses Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange).
Season two will hope to match that Emmy success (more on that later) with its portrayal of Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) and his falling out with a group of New York high society socialites known as the Swans. Capote wrote a fictionalized account of the Swans’ dramatic lives, leading to the Swans vowing revenge for betraying their confidence.
The glossy show is typically gorgeous, scandalous, and theatrical while the performances are all top-drawer. Hollander dazzles in the lead role as Capote, which is no mean feat considering the late, great Philip Seymour-Hoffman won the Best Actor Oscar for his turn as Capote in 2005’s “Capote”). Deadline reports that Kristen Stewart will make her small-screen debut with The Challenger, a limited series following Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly in space.
The Challenger is based on The New Guys, written by Meredith E. Bagby, and comes from Kyra Sedgwick’s Big Swing Productions, which set it up at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin. Sally Ride was part of the first class of NASA astronauts to include women. After completing her training, she flew aboard the space shuttle Challenger on several missions, becoming the first American woman to fly in space. When the Challenger exploded in 1986, she became part of the Rogers Commission, which investigated the reason behind the explosion. It was later revealed that she had provided key information about the O-rings, which were later determined to be the cause.

Kim Kardashian revealed that she was blown away by the accuracy of the portrayal of her father, Robert Kardashian, in Ryan Murphy’s The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
“I loved it,” Kardashian said of the celebrated mini-series in a new conversation with Chloë Sevigny for Variety. “Some people were over and they hadn’t seen it — I watched it years and years ago — and I wanted to see if my recollection was right on the portrayal of my dad. I thought it was just done so well.

Kim Kardashian and Chloë Sevigny share a love of high fashion, classic Hollywood glam — and Ryan Murphy, one of television’s most prolific creators, who also happens to be their mutual boss. Kardashian has appeared on television as herself since 2007; she currently can be seen on Season 5 of “The Kardashians” on Hulu. Now the reality star and influencer is transforming into an actor and producer of scripted projects. Kardashian’s first series regular role was on the recent season of FX’s “American Horror Story: Delicate,” in which she played Siobhan, a personal publicist with a double identity as a witch who draws power from Satan. It’s quite a debut!

Hulu’s “Under the Bridge” could be the next big hit in the Best Limited Series category at this year’s Emmys, as this is a category that loves true crime miniseries. This one documents the harrowing murder of Reene Virk as police officers try to solve the case and a writer (Rebecca Godfrey) is drawn into the hidden world of those accused of murdering Virk. The series is based on Godfrey’s own book of the same name with “Daisy Jones & the Six” star Riley Keough, who also produces, portraying her. Meanwhile, “Killers of the Flower Moon” Best Actress Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone features as the police officer investigating the case.
This eight-episode miniseries, like any true crime series, is a tough watch at times but that makes it all the more vital. Meanwhile, the performances of Keough, Gladstone, and the teen-centric cast are all exquisite, as noted by critics.

The previous teasers for The Blackcoat's Daughter director Osgood Perkins' next feature, Longlegs, have been very effective in building an aura of unsettling dread around the mysterious horror flick, but this latest trailer really takes things to another level.
Though the movie is still playing things relatively close to the chest when it comes to revealing specific plot details, this footage does give us a little more to go on, as rookie FBI agent Lee Harker (It Follows star Maika Monroe) becomes obsessed with tracking down a sadistic serial killer (Nicolas Cage) who targets families - and might just have supernatural abilities.
Harker has a personal connection to the killer (did she survive an earlier attack?), which leads her down an even darker path and into the world of the Occult.
Say your prayers, check out the new trailer and poster below along with the initial social media reactions, and...

Every actor has a few films that might not have performed as well as they wanted, including blockbuster star Denzel Washington. But one box-office disappointment was different from the others, as it may have been a direct result of the O.J. Simpson verdict.
How the O.J. Simpson trial might’ve affected ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’ Denzel Washington | Miikka Skaffari/FilmMagic
Devil in a Blue Dress saw Oscar-winner Washington play Easy Rawlins, a private detective investigating a missing woman. The 1995 movie was based on a series of books that Washington and the film’s director Carl Franklin were interested in at the time. The fact that the film was about a black investigator in the 1940s added another layer to Franklin’s noir film for him to play with.
“It gives you another obstacle,” Franklin said in an interview with Slate. “Of course, obstacles are the key to drama.

The first reactions to Longlegs were recently shared on social media, and after watching the full trailer for Osgood Perkins' (The Blackcoat's Daughter) latest project, it's easy to see why it's being hailed as one of the scariest movies of the year.
Hell, this honestly might go down as one of the most unsettling teasers we've ever seen.
If you think we're exaggerating, have a look...

If you’ve been to your local movie theater in the last several weeks you might’ve seen a trailer for Longlegs that was longer than the ones we’ve been getting online, with the latest trailer for Neon’s new horror movie being split into two parts here on the internet. In 2019, Sandra Oh simultaneously received her seventh and eighth acting Emmy nominations for “Killing Eve” (drama lead) and “Saturday Night Live” (comedy guest). Five years later, her performance bid total is set to reach an even dozen thanks to her respective lead and supporting performances in the telefilm “Quiz Lady” and the limited series “The Sympathizer.” Earning TV academy recognition for these two roles would make her the eighth woman to compete for both possible limited program acting awards at once.
In “Quiz Lady,” which premiered on Hulu last November, Oh plays Jenny Yum, a vivacious yet reckless woman who reunites with her estranged younger sister (Awkwafina) to resolve their mother’s gambling debts. “The Sympathizer,” which began airing on HBO in April, features her in the role of Sofia Mori, a 1970s Japanese American secretary who becomes entangled with a communist spy (Hoa Xuande).

Horror fans have been keeping a very close eye on director Osgood Perkins' next project, and the first social media reactions for the mysterious Longlegs are in.
These reactions are highly positive, and it sounds like the movie is a genuinely disturbing, terrifying experience.
Though Longlegs definitely seems to be keeping its biggest secrets firmly under wraps for the time being (and the teasers are all the better for it), we do know that the plot revolves around a rookie FBI agent (It Follows star Maika Monroe) attempting to track down a sadistic serial killer (Nicolas Cage) who targets families.
Cage's character has largely been kept out of the marketing, aside from one unsettling shot.
Check out the social media posts below, and keep an eye out for a new trailer.
Get ready y’all because Longlegs is the real deal. Absolutely rancid, cursed vibes that had me scared...

Malcolm-Jamal Warner has joined the cast of the hit ABC procedural series 9-1-1. The popular television star will play a nurse named Amir in the series, and the synopsis says he has a “complicated past.” The network has released a first-look sneak peek at his role on the show and what fans can expect.
Here is a look at the first look at Malcolm-Jamal Warner on 9-1-1.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner Joins 9-1-1 Cast
Malcolm-Jamal Warner has a long history as a popular television star. Most fans got to know him when he played Theodore Huxtable on the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show. That was one of the most-watched sitcoms of the 1990s and it helped make the young man a star, although he mostly stuck with television after that.
Thanks to his breakout on The Cosby Show, he earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his role as Theo.

In what could have easily been the next season of “American Crime Story,” Lionsgate Television is diving into the gambling scandal that’s rocked Major League Baseball since March.
Lionsgate is developing a scripted series about how Shohei Ohtani, the Japanese superstar of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Angels, became the subject of massive fraud and theft at the hands of his longtime interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara. Just days ago, Mizuhara agreed to plead guilty to accusations he stole almost $17 million from Ohtani to pay off gambling debts.
Scott Delman (“Station Eleven”) will produce along with Albert Chen, a former senior editor with Sports Illustrated, MLB Network contributor, and the writer of “Billion Dollar Fantasy” about the battle between gambling apps DraftKings and FanDuel. No platform or creative talent is being announced at this stage. Executive Max Elins is overseeing the project for Lionsgate Television.

My guest this week is Judith Light.
Last season, we saw her take home an Emmy for her guest role in Poker Face, in which she hilariously climbed a rose trellis while cleverly camouflaged in a natty pink and green pantsuit. Such is Light’s talent: from the humor of the aforementioned old folks’ home resident terrorist, to her heartfelt turn as matriarch Shelley Pfefferman in Transparent; from The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, to ABC sitcom Who’s the Boss, she’s done it all. And then there are the multiple Tony wins…
Right now, Light can be seen in Max series Julia, in which she plays Blanche Knopf, the legendary publisher of Julia Child’s books, and in Starz’s horror-comedy show Shining Vale, Light is Courteney Cox’s fabulously passive-aggressive mother Joan.
Next up, Light will star opposite Billy Crystal, who also serves as EP,...

One of the best recent rule changes the Television Academy recently made was the 2020 decision to expand the Drama and Comedy series categories to include eight nominees, regardless of the number of entries. But if the goal of the Primetime Emmys is to be reflective of the shows that most engaged viewers and voters alike throughout the TV season, it needs to now go one step further. The TV Academy needs to expand the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category to eight nominees as well.
In the decade since they have re-split the Limited Series and TV Movie categories there have been plenty of winners that were a cultural moment, from “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story” to “Big Little Lies” to “Watchmen,” but these event series were not as common an occurrence. Then the Covid-19 pandemic happened, an event that has had ramifications to the television schedule still present today.

The first full-length trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three has just hit (via Toonado.com), and it teases what looks to be a high-stakes finale to this animated trilogy (and the Tomorrowverse as we know it).
With the Anti-Monitor on the loose, a whole host of heroes assemble to save the Multiverse, but it looks like that will be easier said than done when they also have Lex Luthor to contend with. Several other villains are also spotted, including The Joker, Scarecrow, and Two-Face.
In terms of cameos, the trailer ends with another Batman: The Animated Series tease. Batman Beyond also appears, but perhaps the biggest surprise comes when we return to the world of the Super Friends!

John Travolta returned to television in a full-length role after nearly four decades in Ryan Murphy’s The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. His last TV role was Vinnie Barbarino in Welcome Back, Kotter which lasted from 1975 to 1979. It was not an easy decision to take on the role but Travolta had a personal Hollywood ‘consulting’ team to advise him. This esteemed group of people included Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Rita Hanks, Oprah Winfrey, and Michael Eisner.

Ten years ago today, TMZ published an audio recording of former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling saying racist things surreptitiously captured by his mistress, V. Stiviano. The recording led to his downfall, and changed the NBA forever.
If you’re not a basketball fan, you might not remember the story. But FX’s limited series “Clipped,” which just got its first trailer today, makes a case for the Donald Sterling saga as a “People v. O.J. Simpson”-style story about race, class, power, and that unique corner of America known as Los Angeles.
Per FX, “Clipped” “charts the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and even less functional marriage, and the precipitating tape’s impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league.”
“Clipped” stars Ed O’Neill as Sterling, a man who made his fortune building an L.

HBO had the Lakers, now FX has the Clippers. Will the series’ fates differ (as the real-life teams’ have), or will “Clipped” face the same quick, quiet end as “Winning Time”? We’ll find out this June, when FX’s latest ripped-from-the-headlines adaptation premieres exclusively on Hulu. The trailer was released Thursday, April 25 — just under six weeks prior to the premiere — and now you can watch the first footage below.
Set in 2013, the six-episode limited series stars Ed O’Neill as L.A. Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling and Laurence Fishburne as the team’s head coach, Doc Rivers. Formerly with the Boston Celtics (who won an NBA title in 2008), Rivers had just joined the Clippers when the owner’s racist comments went public, sending the organization into a tailspin and Sterling into a power struggle with Rivers, players, and the NBA at large. However, what makes them even more exciting for the viewers is the fact that what is shown on screen has actually happened in reality, and that just makes people lose their minds.
One of the recently released true crime dramas is Netflix’s Baby Reindeer. The miniseries tells the gripping story of the performer Richard Gadd, who at his young age was harassed by a female stalker.
The story is powerful and already got 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, but here we have 5 more jaw-dropping series that follow real-life terrifying stories.
1. When They See Us (2019)
When They See Us is just 3% short of a perfect score, but that means nothing in this case because the series is considered the best true crime of all time.

‘The Jinx’ Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki Says Despite True-Crime Boom Robert Durst “Is Kind of a Unicorn”
Since HBO’s The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst aired in 2015, Durst, who was arrested shortly before the docuseries’ shocking finale, was convicted of murder in 2021 before dying months later.
In that time, true-crime projects have proliferated in the wake of hits like The Jinx and contemporary docuseries Making a Murderer, the podcast Serial and based-on-a-true-story fictional series like The People v. O.J. Simpson and subsequent American Crime Story installments.
Yet despite being part of this early true-crime wave, The Jinx filmmaker Andrew Jarecki says that there were things about Durst that made him even more riveting than an unsolved murder.
“I think Bob is kind of a unicorn because he’s so unusual, because he’s such a powerful personality and also reckless and also willing to be honest about things that most people aren’t honest about, so you feel like you’re seeing inside him,...
