2008’s Iron Man kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe and 2012’s The Avengers put the connected franchise into the mega-spotlight for featuring one of the biggest live-action comic crossovers ever. The trend continued in the coming years as Marvel Studios upped its scale and ambitions with new characters and storylines, complemented by a star-studded Avengers series, culminating it all with the end of its Infinity Saga, or phase three.

A few months ago, there were rumors that Marvel Studios was working on a ‘Midnight Sons’ project, and that the new ‘Blade’ reboot would be connected to it.
The Midnight Sons would feature characters who have never been in ‘The Avengers,’ and Doctor Strange supposedly won’t be part of the team.
Now, Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus shared on his Discord Ama the possible members of the Midnight Sons, along with some frequently mentioned candidates according to his inside sources:
I’ve heard Wong, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Night, & Man-Thing as the most repeated names by sources as part of the team roster. Other names I’ve heard, from most to least likely, include Black Knight, Scarlet Scarab, Elsa Bloodstone, Dr. Strange, and even Agatha Harkness. But if I had to guess how many members I’d expect for this team lineup, I’d say between 6-9 members.

It’s been a long time coming, but a reboot of the 1994 cult classic film The Crow (which was based on the comic book series created by James O’Barr) will finally be making its way out into the world on August 23rd, which is when Lionsgate will be giving the film a theatrical release. With that release date swiftly approaching, we figured we should gather together all the information we have on this movie… and here it is, Everything We Know About The Crow 2024:
Not A Remake
Lionsgate has informed us that this new version of The Crow, which we have previously been referring to as a remake, is not to be called a remake. Rather, the film is to be referred to as “a new adaptation of the comic book.” They have also revealed that the tragic characters at the heart of the story are not named Eric Draven and Shelly Webster,...

Within minutes of the actors strike ending on Nov. 9, Ryan Reynolds was making plans to get back to London and the set of Deadpool & Wolverine, one of the many movies shut down in mid-July when the walkout commenced. He and director Shawn Levy were determined to make their July 26 release date, which they were able to accomplish. For other tentpoles, it was too late, and they would ultimately decamp to 2025.
One studio head says the impact of the writers’ walkout, which lasted five months until a settlement was reached on Sept. 27, also played a major role. “Think of it like this — if the actors’ strike shut down the oil refinery, then the writers’ strike shut down the oil fields.”
Toward the end of the SAG-AFTRA talks, studio chiefs were accused of being disingenuous when saying their 2024 release calendars were in danger every day the four-month strike dragged. Now the...

Be-Rad Entertainment’s Demon’s Mirror nonchalantly blends a mix of different sub-genres of games. It’s a deck-building that mixes grid puzzle mechanics that builds on turn-based combat. On paper, this may sound a bit too much, but it works. Both, in its gameplay and art direction. It’s a breath of fresh air in a world of puzzle games that fool a player’s sense of familiarity, no thanks to fancy cutscenes and basic puzzle-solving that builds on the foundation of games that came before.
I’m delighted to say that Demon’s Mirror has successfully proven that experimenting with different sub-genres of game design can prove to be extremely rewarding, although sometimes “too much talent” can be a problematic promise for players who are new to certain game mechanics.

Actor/ director and comedian Jordan Peele has been the mastermind behind some of the most talked about horror movies, including Get Out, Us, and of course, Nope. However, his recent cinematic journey as a producer has not been quite as promising as Dev Patel’s very own Monkey Man, despite the hype, was far from making a splash at the box office.

Certainly, Peele deserves a break, and his recent meeting with Marvel Executives might just change his fate. With the recent report, fans might wonder what project Peele would pick up. While most fans almost believed that he would direct Mahershala Ali’s Blade, we think he might just land on a different exciting project, given Yann Demange is set to direct Blade (if Marvel Studios is still sticking with him).

Marvel has several upcoming projects slated for release in the coming years. Many of these projects have faced delays or cancellations due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that affected the entire industry. One highly anticipated Marvel Studios project, ‘Blade,’ encountered issues even before the strikes began.
‘Blade’ is an MCU movie centered around Eric Brooks, a prominent vampire hunter in comics. It serves as a reboot of the beloved ‘Blade’ trilogy, which played a significant role in shaping the MCU as we know it today.
Summarizing all the challenges faced by ‘Blade’ is quite a task. Mahershala Ali, the movie’s lead, pitched the idea to the studio a while back and was officially announced as Blade in 2018. Since then, the project has grappled with constant script issues, leading to several changes in writers throughout its development.

Marvel has plenty of projects bound to be released in the next few years, and we know that most of these projects have been stuck in a sort of limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry as a whole, causing plenty of projects to be both delayed or altogether canceled.
One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an McU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today.
It would be hard to summarize all the problems that ‘Blade’ had so far, the main star of the movie Mahershala Ali approached the studio with the pitch a long time ago and was officially announced as Blade in 2018. Since then,...

Despite some quantity-over-quality issues during the Multiverse Saga, the MCU continues to draw massive interest from moviegoers and comic book fans. That goes some way in explaining why we get so many rumours about its future and we're back today with another roundup.
We start with information shared by Jeff Sneider. He chimes in on some recent rumblings about the MCU, including that latest report about Captain America: Brave New World needing only 22 days of reshoots (read more about that here).
Sneider believes more additional photography is planned for later in 2024 and notes, "From what I’ve heard, it's going to take a lot more than 22 days to fix everything that’s wrong with this movie."
Another supposedly troubled MCU project is Blade. First announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the reboot has been through multiple writers and directors and, as we write this, still seems no closer to happening.

Sam Wilson is back in action this week in Atlanta, where Captain America: Brave New World began a round of additional photography, with a new actor now in the cast.
Giancarlo Esposito, who for a few weeks had hinted at his involvement in a Marvel Studios project, is officially on the call sheet in an undisclosed, but sources say, villainous role.
The shoot will run 22 days, according to insiders. Among the added elements will be some new action sequences. Julius Onah remains the director.

The fact that there was going to be a Blade reboot as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe came as a huge surprise when the announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July of 2019 – but all these years later, we’re still waiting on the film to make its way into production. In fact, with Bob Iger recently announcing that the studio was cutting back (even more) on Marvel stuff, Blade’s future seems in limbo. So, here’s Everything We Know About Blade.

Attention: The Following Report Is A Rumor. Please Take The Following Story With A Grain Of Salt.
Ever since it was originally announced in 2019, the MCU’s interpretation of the half-human, half-vampire monster hunter Blade has been in production hell. The character, once made popular by the 1998 film, portrayed by Wesley Snipes, has since had a revolving door of creatives and multiple pushbacks in terms of getting the project off the ground.
Bassam Tariq was originally set to direct, with Stacy Amma Osei-Kuffour writing the script, but Tariq left in early 2022 following creative differences. Yann Demange took over directing duties, while Michael Starrbury was brought on to rewrite the script. Later, both Nic Pizzolatto and Michael Green did additional rewrites.

The news broke last night that Mahershala Ali is in talks to star in Universal Pictures' upcoming Jurassic World reboot, seemingly leaving the status of Marvel Studios' long-planned Blade reboot up in the air.
Though we haven't had any official updates on the project, Jurassic World 4 is said to be gearing up for a mid-June shoot, which is also around the time Blade is (or was) expected to begin filming. So, it seems highly unlikely that Ali would be lining up this Jw role if he was still planning to play the Daywalker unless the MCU project has been hit with yet another delay - or has been cancelled altogether?

One fandom's loss is another's gain, apparently. While Marvel Studios has been undergoing something of an identity crisis in recent years, capped by Disney's Bob Iger actually promising to slow down production of movies and shows during a shareholder call while Marvel's Brad Winderbaum recently copped to the shortcomings of the #ItsAllConnected approach, one of the bigger casualties has been the shaky status of the announced "Blade" movie. Starring the great Mahershala Ali as the eponymous vampire hunter, the film has undergone quite a bit of behind-the-scenes chaos, from directorial changes to significant amounts of creative overhaul -- to the extent, in fact, that the star reportedly came this close to parting ways with the studio altogether. Well, Marvel fans can consider this latest development as yet another troublesome sign. Dinosaur fans, meanwhile, have our permission to rejoice.

We’ve been waiting a few years to see if and when the Marvel Cinematic Universe Blade reboot that’s set to star Mahershala Ali of Green Book is going to go into production – and while we continue to wait, Ali is in talks to join former MCU star Scarlett Johansson in the new Jurassic World movie that’s in the works at Universal! As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Ali tends to be very selective and usually avoids Hollywood blockbuster-type projects (aside from Blade), so getting him to sign on for a role would be a big “get” for this project.

Last year, Jennifer Lopez starred in so-so Netflix actioner "The Mother," in which she sniped her way through wave after wave of bad guys. Unfortunately the film marked yet another moment whereby the streaming age subsumed a former megastar into its nebulous cloud of generic "content." If "The Mother" isn't enough to convince you of such developments, just take a look at "Atlas," the latest Lopez-starring Netflix original film.
It should be said that the trailer for "Atlas" did look promising, but critics certainly aren't too impressed with this sci-fi actioner, which comes from director Brad Peyton ("San Andreas") and also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. When you think of the Star Wars films, George Lucas is the immediate name that comes to mind. The pioneering efforts of the genius filmmaker created a new cinematic revolution in Hollywood that is still seen as the benchmark for all aspiring sci-fi directors today.

But Lucas could well have had competition in this space if popular novelist and screenplay writer David Goyer had gone through with his original script for a Star Wars film. The co-director of 2013’s The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, first came up with the concept when he was attending grad school. Marvel has numerous projects slated for release in the coming years, many of which have been in limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the entire industry, resulting in delays and cancellations.
One highly anticipated Marvel Studios project that faced issues long before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ This McU-based film follows Eric Brooks, the iconic vampire hunter from the comics, and serves as a reboot of the immensely popular ‘Blade’ trilogy, which played a significant role in shaping the MCU as we know it today.
We’ve been closely monitoring the ‘Blade’ project, often with less-than-ideal updates, and now fresh rumors suggest another round of rewrites for the film. According to industry insider and notable leaker Daniel Richtman, significant revisions are underway, prompting the search for a new writer. While the story concept and shooting specifics are finalized, filming is set for Fall 2024 in either Mexico or Brazil.

While we never got to see Peter losing Uncle Ben in the MCU, which makes sense as it has been done to death in other iterations, No Way Home did leave fans teary-eyed with Aunt May’s demise. Although heartbreaking for sure, this could be regarded as this version of Peter’s canon event, as her death and Nwh‘s ending set the path for a more traditional Spider-Man story moving forward.

All of which amounted to a set that must have been intimidating for even seasoned actors.
Take Dave Bautista, for example. When shooting "Dune: Part Two," the wrestler-turned-actor was particularly intimidated by "Elvis" star Austin Butler, before being surprised at how warm and supportive he was. Even Butler himself admitted to being unnerved by the scale of the production, revealing in a behind-the-scenes clip that he was nervous about the shoot and that arriving on set felt like "the first day of school."

The premise that makes up the plot of Wesley Snipesʼ Blade trilogy is an undisputed winner among all pop culture genres. Vampires and vampire hunters have been a fascination since the days of Bram Stokerʼs Dracula and it is no wonder that every other supernatural lore and mythology deals with the bloodsucking creatures of the night.

Let’s not beat around the bush; Marvel’s going through something right now. The superhero studio’s recent output has simply exhausted both casual and hardcore fans alike.
The sentiment appears to be close to universal too: amidst the avalanche of MCU content, there have been too few hits and too many misses. The fact that Bob Iger, Disney’s Chief Executive Officer, has publicly said that they’re going to change strategy and “slowly decrease volume” tells you everything you need to know.
So how does Marvel proceed from here? MCU mastermind Kevin Feige is seemingly planning to course-correct by re-assembling the Avengers sooner rather than later. Next year alone will see the release of Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four, and Blade, followed a few months later by a new Avengers—previously subtitled “The Kang Dynasty,” though that’s reportedly been abandoned.
It’s a sensible play.

The first two Deadpool movies were proudly R-rated, but when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, fans were concerned that any future appearances from the character would be stuck in the realm of PG-13. Thankfully, Deadpool & Wolverine will be arriving in theaters with its R-rating intact, and no one was more surprised than Ryan Reynolds himself.
While speaking with Fandango, Reynolds admitted he was “surprised” Disney allowed them to be the first R-rated movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I hope it doesn’t sound condescending, I’m really proud of them for doing this. I think it’s a huge step for them,” Reynolds said. “I mean, it adds a whole other color to this kaleidoscopic wheel that is that company and the different people that they have been entertaining forever.“
Reynolds continued, “I was surprised though, that they let us go as hard R, but very grateful. I mean...
