Starring Emma Thomson and Hugh Jackman, Three Bags Full has been penned by Craig Mazin, the creator of last year’s huge success, The Last Of Us.
Here’s a project that comes from the mind behind The Last Of Us and Chernobyl, two of the most celebrated TV shows of the last few years. Screenwriter and creator Craig Mazin has built himself a reputation for delivering quality on the small screen, and he’s also penned a ‘weird’ Pirates Of The Caribbean script that producer Jerry Bruckheimer seems very taken with. But it seems that for his latest project, Mazin is headed to pastures new. Pastures filled with sheep.
Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, it has been revealed that Mazin has penned the script for Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie. Amazon MGM is baaaaa-cking the project (sorry) and no less than Emma Thompson and Hugh Jackman have signed up to star.

Lionsgate has released the first clip from Eli Roth's adaptation of Gearbox Software and 2K's Borderlands first-person-shooter video game, and it should give fans a pretty good idea of what to expect from the movie's tone.
In this sneak peek, we see the team do their best to keep Claptrap the robot from making too much noise while he "expels lead," but to no avail. After being ambushed by a group of bad guys, Lilith, Roland and Krieg start blasting while the others search for an escape route.

Hugh Jackman’s new movie plot has left fans in a confused state. The bizarre plot of the newly announced comedy film, Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, is based on Leonie Swann’s German bestselling novel. Besides Jackman, the film has an ensemble cast including Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, and Hong Chau.

Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Hugh Jackman is set to star in Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie and I was not prepared for the synopsis. Let’s get right to it.
Based on Leonie Swann’s international bestseller, the film follows George Hardy (Jackman), “a shepherd who loves his sheep and raises them only for their wool. Every night, he reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand, never suspecting that not only can they understand, but they argue for hours afterwards about whodunnit. When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. The local cop Tim Derry, on the other hand, has never solved a serious crime in his life, so the sheep conclude they will have to solve it themselves, even if it means...

Lionsgate released the first trailer for Eli Roth's adaptation of Gearbox Software and 2K's Borderlands first-person-shooter video game back in February, and we now have a look at the movie's villains via a new batch of character posters (via GameFragger.com).
The banners spotlight Benjamin Byron Davis as Marcus, Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Janina Gavankar as Commander Knoxx, Olivier Richters as Krom, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Bobby Lee as Larry, and The Crimson Lance, who will likley serve as Stormtrooper-like canon fodder.
It seems each poster contains some sort of Easter egg. We couldn't spot anything, but maybe fans of the games will have more luck.

The Last of Us will return for its eagerly awaited second season in 2025 with some significant changes. The creators, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have confirmed that this season will consist of seven episodes, two fewer than the first, which might come as a surprise to many fans. They elaborated on their reasoning in a recent interview. New Pacing and Future Prospects The decision to reduce the number of episodes isn’t just about keeping audiences intrigued. Audiences will thankfully have to wait even longer to savor the last of “The Last of Us.”
Series co-creators, executive producers, showrunners, and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann confirmed to Deadline that they are slating at least four seasons for the HBO series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Season 2 of “The Last of Us” will premiere in 2025, with a newly released episode count of just seven installments.
But that doesn’t mean that “The Last of Us” is almost out of storylines. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
“We don’t think that we’re going to be able to tell the story even within two seasons [2 and 3] because we’re taking our time and go down interesting pathways which we did a little bit in Season 1 too,” Mazin said. “We feel like it’s almost assuredly going to be the case that — as long as people keep...

It's already been over a year for since The Last of Us wrapped up its first season and, thanks to last year's Hollywood strikes, the series now won't return until 2025.
Today, it's been confirmed it will be back with fewer episodes than season 1. In an interview with Deadline (via SFFGazette.com), co-creators, executive producers, showrunners and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann confirmed season 2 will consist of seven episodes. On the plus side, they'll boast longer runtimes.
The story, which adapts The Last of Us Part II video game, is also expected to continue into a third and possibly fourth season!
"The story material that we got from Part II of the game is way more than the story material that was in the first game, so part of what we had to do from the start was figure out how to tell that story across seasons," Mazin tells the trade.

In the opinion of most critics and fans, The Last of Us video game series is one of the best ever. A survival horror on the surface, the game is actually an exceptionally complex post-apocalyptic tale that sends a significant warning, as well as shows some great character development. HBO has adapted the video game into a live-action series starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, whose first season was a global hit. Because of that, The Last of Us was renewed for a second season, which is currently being filmed. While we’re waiting for the second season, fans are wondering how many episodes it will have and what the future holds for the series.

After getting our first look at Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey's Joel and Ellie in The Last Of Us Season 2 a couple of weeks ago, more details are beginning to emerge about the second season of HBO's critically acclaimed videogame adaptation. In an expansive new interview with Deadline, series co-creators Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin have confirmed that the next season of their post-apocalyptic show will run shorter than Season 1, comprising seven episodes compared to the first season's nine. Excitingly however, the showrunners did also tease "a significantly larger" Season 3 on the horizon, with the potential for Joel and Ellie's story to stretch further yet to a fourth season.
Explaining the decision making process behind a shorter second season, Mazin explained it's not a case of there being less narrative ground to cover adapting The Last Of Us Part II, but more. “The story material that we got from...

How long will HBO's TV adaptation of "The Last of Us" last? We're finally inching closer to an answer. With only two primary video games serving as the source material, fans (myself included) have been wondering if the show would pull a "Game of Thrones" and end up pushing beyond the story laid out in the games. We saw what happened when HBO and the "Thrones" creatives made that decision, but we can breathe easy: That won't happen here.
In an interview with Deadline, "The Last of Us" game creator Neil Druckmann and his co-showrunner Craig Mazin said the show will not include stories that go beyond the endpoint established in the second game. "As a fan, I'm thrilled that there might be a third 'Last of Us' game. As the co-creator of this television show, there's no world where I would want our show to go beyond the source...

‘The Last Of Us’: Showrunners Promise A Bigger Season 3, A Shorter Season 2 & Potentially A Season 4
What’s going on with season two of HBO’s highly acclaimed, much-anticipated “The Last Of Us,” pandemic-zombie series that made an even bigger star out of Pedro Pascal? The series aired in January of 2023 and might have been ready for a return in 2024, but last year’s writers’ and actors’ strikes scuttled that plan. Currently, “The Last Of Us” is expected to return sometime in 2025, and in a new Deadline interview, showrunners and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have shared some new details.

Exclusive: It’s a case of good news-bad news for The Last of Us fans who have been patiently waiting more than a year for new episodes of HBO’s award-winning drama adaptation based on the acclaimed video game. When Season 2 finally arrives in 2025, it will be shorter than Season 1, consisting of seven episodes. But the good news is that a potential third season will be “significantly larger” and possibly bigger in scope, and there could very well be a Season 4 coming behind it according to series co-creators, executive producers, showrunners and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Plus, one of the Season 2 episodes will be “quite big” in length.

Baker, who reprised his role in the series with a guest appearance as James, praised Pascal’s interpretation. He noted that Pascal’s performance continually surprises and teaches him new facets of Joel’s character.

Arguably the most popular video game voice actor out there, Troy Baker has one of the most unique portfolios in the industry. On one hand, he has starred in epic video-game series such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, and Death Stranding.

The game only revealed a few minor details about his past, including the fact he moved to Seattle after serving in the United States Marine Corps. If you can add Jeffrey Wright to your film/TV series/video game/secondary school play, you add Jeffrey Wright. The Last Of Us game creator Neil Druckmann already knew this, having the Academy Award-nominated actor voice a character called Isaac in The Last Of Us Part II and now he and fellow TV series adaptation show-runner Craig Mazin are keeping that tradition intact, with Wright reprising the role, this time in live action for the show's second season.
Game players will know who he is, but for those whose first experience of the story is the show, we'll look to avoid spoilers by simply quoting the series' official line on the character: "the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy."

You can't do better than Jeffrey Wright, so why even try? The actor is coming off his first-ever Oscar nod for "American Fiction," which is frankly shocking given the pedigree of his previous work. We're talking about the man who starred in Mike Nichols' "Angels in America" miniseries (reprising the role he played in the original Pulitzer Prize-winning play's Broadway debut), spent 15 years playing Felix Leiter, the coolest cat in the Daniel Craig James Bond movies, and was the Mvp of Matt Reeves' "The Batman" as Jim Gordon. He was also everyone's favorite human-turned-host, Bernard Lowe, across all four seasons of "Westworld" and has recently become a member of Wes Anderson's acting troupe.

Fresh off his Academy Award nomination, Jeffrey Wright is returning to HBO for the highly-anticipated Season 2 of “The Last of Us.”
The Oscar-nominated “American Fiction” actor, who previously won an Emmy for “Westworld,” is set to play Isaac in the video game adaptation series. Isaac is billed as a “quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”
Wright also voiced Isaac in “The Last of Us Part II” video game, making his casting a full circle choice for the Emmy-winning series adaptation.
Wright formerly starred in fellow HBO series “Westworld.” Wright was further rumored to have a spinoff series of “The Batman” at Max; the project has since been stalled as “The Penguin” series and “The Batman: Part II” film both move forward.

We’ve known for a while that another ‘weird’ Pirates Of The Caribbean movie is coming, and Margot Robbie is still involved too.
Here’s an update on a story that we’ve been reporting on now for a good few years. It’s zigged and zagged a few times since then, but according to series producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, a Pirate Of The Caribbean film starring Margot Robbie in a female-centric movie is still happening.
We first heard about this project all the way back in 2020. Apparently, Disney had plans to make two very different Pirates Of The Caribbean movies to continue the popular swashbuckling series that already boasts six films. The plans back in 2020 were to develop a female-led version which would be headlined by Margot Robbie alongside another ‘weird’ film with an all-new cast. The latter version was based on a script penned by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott,...

There have been hot and cold reports about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise over the past few years. Some had a reboot happening with an entirely new cast, others a female-centric film with Margot Robbie. Now, Jerry Bruckheimer is setting the record straight.
“It’s two different movies,” Bruckheimer says. The reboot has Jeff Nathanson doing the script with the Robbie-centric film being written by Christina Hodson, according to Entertainment Weekly, which caught up with the producer. “We hope to get ’em both made, and I think Disney agrees they really want to make the Margot one, too.”
The Last of Us creator Craig Mazin worked on a story for the reboot with original screenwriter Ted Elliot. Mazin told the L.A. Times that their script was very weird and that Disney seemed to like it. But the project stalled because of the strikes last year.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer has provided more clarity on the current state of the Disney adventure franchise. He already teased in March that a total reboot was going to be the first “Pirates” movie out of the gate in the future because “it’s easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.” This reboot is now confirmed to have writer Jeff Nathanson attached. Bruckheimer announced the news in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Nathanson also wrote the screenplay for the last “Pirates” movie, 2017’s “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which was directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Rønning and Nathanson, as well as Bruckheimer, have reunited on the new Disney biographical drama “Young Woman and the Sea.”

The Last of Us created by Craig Mazin, is one of the main HBO projects right now. Despite high ratings for the first season, it's too early to tell if The Last of Us will live up to expectations – the main action will unfold in the second season, which will be released in 2025.
Viewers unfamiliar with the source material will likely remember John Hillcoat's The Road and Alfonso Cuarón's Children of Men, two of the main sources of inspiration for the video game's creators. However, the series not only resembles post-apocalyptic road movies, but also Chernobyl, Craig Mazin's previous project.
It's easy to draw parallels between the opening scene of The Last of Us, in which a scientist explains that humanity is facing the threat of a cordyceps fungus pandemic due to possible global warming, and the miniseries, in which a problem-ignoring bureaucratic system tries to correct its own mistakes.

The Last Of Us Season 2 is in the works. Here’s all the juicy details we know about it so far, including what to expect from the upcoming season when it premieres.
The Last Of Us Season 1 Was A Huge Hit
Post-apocalyptic shows can often be a hit or miss with audiences. Particularly in the last ten to twenty years, the genre has been done and overdone. Franchises like The Walking Dead come to mind. While it started out strong, between the original and all of the spinoffs, watchers tend to have viewing fatigue.
That was not the case with the HBO Max adaptation of The Last Of Us. Season 1 on the platform was a huge hit. Actor Nick Offerman even took home his first Emmy award for his gripping performance in Season 1, Episode 3, Long, Long Time.

As the Fireflies' famous catchphrase goes: "When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light." And as our not-so-famous catchphrase goes: "When you're waiting patiently for The Last Of Us Season 2, look for the first images of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey's return as Joel and Ellie." Good news – that light has arrived, people. During an Upfront presentation yesterday, Warner Bros. Discovery gave fans their first look at Season 2 of Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin's critically acclaimed game adaptation — and we're already feeling all the feels. You can see the Joel pic above – and here's the Ellie shot:
Now, these pictures don't tell us an awful lot about what's coming in Season 2, but that doesn't make them any less fascinating to look at. Joel's grown-out locks. Ellie's winter hat. His new jacket. Her new shotgun (who — or what — is it aimed at?). Both of them look a bit older now,...

Thanks to GameFragger.com, we have the first images of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie from the upcoming second season of HBO's The Last of Us.
Shared by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content, during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation, both characters look very much in line with their respective video game counterparts, though there are already more complaints on social media about Ramsey looking too young for the role.
She is now 20, a year older than Ellie was in The Last of Us Part II. The video game version looked quite a bit older than 19 when players were placed in her shoes, and we're sure such a youthful-looking Ellie will only make what's to come in season 2 more harrowing.
It's also been confirmed that, following a record-breaking first season as the most-watched debut season of a series ever for HBO, the...

The first look at Season 2 of “The Last of Us” was unveiled on Wednesday featuring stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. HBO and Max chief Casey Bloys debuted the images during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York City.
The show chronicles the story of Joel (Pascal) and Ellie (Ramsey) as they navigate a world overrun with zombies infected with a parasitic fungus — not to mention the ruthless vigilantes, mercenaries and cannibals just as desperate to survive. Just as the first season of “The Last of Us” was adapted from the acclaimed 2013 video game of the same title, Season 2 of the series is expected to follow the events of its 2020 sequel, “The Last of Us Part II,” which deals with the fallout from Joel’s actions in the season 1 finale.

Bella Ramsey did an exceptional job with their work in the first season of the live-action adaptation of The Last of Us on HBO. However, the performer was greeted with a mixed reception due to their appearance. The community is more concerned about their looks than their talent.

Cameras have been rolling on The Last of Us season 2 for a while now, and we finally have some semi-decent set photos. These offer fans a first look at Bella Ramsey's Ellie with her girlfriend, Dina (played by Madame Web and Superman star Isabela Merced).
