After a career spent tackling some of the most challenging roles in Hollywood in films such as “Motherless Brooklyn,” “Fight Club’” and “American History X,” Edward Norton has started to work in TV.
Norton is doing his work behind the camera, but it could make him and his colleagues some of the medium’s most influential. Edo, an analytics company he co-founded with economist and entrepreneur Daniel Nadler, has in the past year struck alliances with Netflix, Disney, Amazon, TelevisaUnivision, Nielsen and Paramount Global, among others. It is also helping advertisers such as State Farm and SoFi determine how to spend their dollars.
TV ad-sales executives have spotted the actor holding forth at a Disney presentation to advertisers and at a meeting of the Vab, a trade group that represents the TV networks. At the latter, Norton sounded “like a CEO. He’s very big picture and super articulate and...

Sausage Party sequel series Foodtopia is heading to Prime Video next month, spinning out from the original film. Trailer here.
Much of the hype surrounding Sausage Party upon its release in 2015 seemed to focus on the fact that a lewd, crude animated film was making its way to cinemas, as there had been a dearth of such films in the mainstream for quite a long time. Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and written by Seth Rogan, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffer, the plot followed the anthropomorphic grocery items in a supermarket, as they dream of being sold and moving to ‘The Great Beyond’ only to be horrified when they discover they will be eaten.
The film proved popular at the box office, making over $140 million on a budget of $19 million. Inevitably, this meant that it was only a matter of time before a sequel was produced,...

Matt Damon recently added another entry to his Bourne films with the titular movie Jason Bourne. But Jeremy Renner’s Bourne Legacy may have further motivated Damon to do a sequel he thought he’d never make.

Although Damon was fine with the way the original Bourne trilogy ended, there was hope that he’d return for another film. For years, Damon would interact with fans who’d ask him about reprising his role. Movie executives would invite Damon over for dinner to try and persuade him to continue the franchise. But Damon remained on the fence.
The Bourne franchise would once try to continue in Damon’s absence, however, with The Bourne Legacy. The spin-off saw Jeremy Renner play agent Aaron Cross, who went on his own adventures that were...

The “Sausage Party” TV-series spinoff “Foodtopia” is kind of like Seth Rogen’s warped, food-based version of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis.”
Based off the 2016 animated feature, the upcoming Prime Video series “Sausage Party: Foodtopia” follows returning characters Frank, Brenda, Barry, and Sammy as they try to build their own food society. It’s a…bit less sophisticated than Coppola’s.
The infamously raunchy food-centric “Sausage Party” whipped up a bit of a stir with its original theatrical release. Now, almost a decade later, the Prime Video series features returning original cast members Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton, along with newcomers Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester.
The eight-episode first season hails from Annapurna Television, Sony Pictures Television, and Amazon MGM Studios. The original film was a co-production between Columbia Pictures and Great Beyond.

Benoit Blanc returns in his most dangerous case yet. Production has begun in London on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film featuring the celebrated, Southern-fried detective created by writer/director Rian Johnson and played by Daniel Craig. The new installment is produced by Johnson and producer Ram Bergman’s production company T-Street.
We first met Blanc in 2019’s Knives Out, when he was hired to investigate the death of bestselling author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). In that film, Blanc teamed up with nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas) to uncover the truth in a twisted case filled with angry relatives, red herrings, and fabulous knitwear.
Blanc’s skills were called upon once more in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, when he headed to Greece to peel back the layers of intrigue surrounding tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and an eclectic group of disruptors.

When the original Knives Out movie was released by Lionsgate in 2019, the whodunnit starring Daniel Craig as the southern P.E. Benoit Blanc, was either doomed to fail or become a smashing success. The latter happened, as the ensemble cast full of big names made Knives Out one of the best films of the year, ending up with numerous accolades and nominations, with many going so far as to claim that it had revived the whodunnit genre. The sequel, Glass Onion, was also well-received, but more because of its political and social messages than for the plot, which was more or less feeble and unworthy of the original. But, what is important is that Glass Onion also featured an ensemble cast, and it seems that the upcoming third movie, Wake Up Dead Man, will also follow in these footsteps.

The series of murder mysteries that began with the 2019 film Knives Out and continued with the 2022 film Glass Onion is set to keep on going with Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which has writer/director Rian Johnson back at the helm. Johnson and his collaborators are being very secretive about this project right now, but there’s a lot of hype for it – so we figured this would be a good time to start assembling a list of Everything We Know About Wake Up Dead Man. Put on any action movie made between 1903’s The Great Train Robbery and 2017’s John Wick, pay attention to the risks playing out before you, and you’ll never stop asking why the hell aren’t stunt performers lauded for their efforts by the Academy Awards. In the 1970s, one of the greatest and most underrated decades for action movies, you could still see every danger to life and limb on screen. CGI wasn’t around yet, and the law was barely paying attention.
The result is an era where bloody martial arts imports and Blaxploitation commentary blended with tight-wire action and terrifyingly real stunts. The very best remain iconic, from the Dirty Harrys to 1979’s global phenomenon, Mad Max. But with the passage of time comes forgetting, and the ‘70s hide some of the best, wildest, and sometimes even edgiest movies waiting for fans to rediscover.

Breaking news: The greatest threat to this industry isn't the death of movie theaters, the rise of artificial intelligence, or Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav's reign of terror. It is, in fact, writer/director Rian Johnson's ceaseless efforts to cast the entirety of Hollywood in his "Knives Out" movies.
Since today's a day that ends in "Y," that quest continues unabated yet again. After only just hearing word that the third film in this murder-mystery series, titled "Wake Up Dead Man," has added actors Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, and Glenn Close to its roster of stars, we've now received word that yet another high-profile name is close to signing on the dotted line. Glenn Close is the latest star to board the new Knives Out mystery movie. The actress has joined the all-star cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Rian Johnson’s thriller headlined by Daniel Craig.
The Netflix feature has been on a casting tear in the past week, furiously sewing up deals as it heads toward an early June production start in the U.K.
Challengers’ Josh O’Connor, Civil War actress Cailee Spaeny, Ripley star Andrew Scott and Scandal alum Kerry Washington are already on the list of suspects (and maybe represent a victim or two).
Plot details and character information are being kept in the morgue, but the thriller is expected to follow the same circuitous path as Johnson’s previous Knives Out mysteries. Eccentric, Southern-fried detective Benoit Blanc (Criag) will uncover the details behind a murder while surrounded by a coterie of colorful characters.

Edward Norton is quite vocal about his admiration for veteran filmmaker Spike Lee. The actor could not understand why a lot of people sleep on his talent, but the Red Dragon star would not let unfair criticism taint the director’s reputation.

Update: Andrew Scott, most recently seen in All Of Us Strangers and Netflix's Ripley, is also now confirmed by Variety as joining the cast.
Just last week, we learned the title of Rian Johnson's latest Knives Out mystery — Wake Up Dead Man. The writer/director didn't share any casting, but word has since arrived (initially via What's On Netflix and since confirmed by the trades) that the first two pieces of the ensemble around returning veteran Daniel Craig have been locked in: Challengers' Josh O'Connor and Priscilla's Cailee Spaeny.
Beyond that, the information is basically nil — we don't know, for example what sort of mystery the drawlin' detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) will be digging into this time, nor do we know exactly where (rumours have pointed to a least shooting in London).

Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny are reportedly in talks to join Daniel Craig in the ensemble for Rian Johnson’s next Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man.
Considering the exorbitant amount that Netflix paid Rian Johnson to make two Knives Out sequels, it figures that we have to see at least some of that reported $400m on the screen. "Moonrise Kingdom" was the film that made me fall in love with Wes Anderson's work. It's not that I disliked his earlier stuff; ironically, one of his least well-received films, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," was also the one that started turning me onto his movies in the first place. Yet, it was 2012's "Moonrise Kingdom" that solidified me as a Fanderson or Westie or whatever you call those who can't get enough of the quirky cineaste's funny, melancholic, meticulously curated art.
The movie centers on a pair of eccentric 12-year-olds -- orphan and devoted Khaki Scout Sam (Jared Gilman) and rebellious Suzy (Kara Hayward) -- who develop a romantic attraction to one another and, feeling alienated from the rest of their community on the small fictional island of New Penzance, conspire to run away together. Meanwhile, the adults in their lives scramble to bring them home, yet...

Daniel Craig will return for 'Knives Out 3'.Director Rian Johnson took to X to confirm that Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming Netflix movie and he also revealed the movie's title will be 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery'.He posted: "I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There's a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies."We're about to go into production on the 3rd one and I'm very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it's going."The next Benoit Blanc mystery, the follow-up to 'Knives Out' and 'Glass Onion', is called 'Wake Up Dead Man'."And,...

Benoit Blanc returns in his most dangerous case yet. Filmmaker Rian Johnson and Netflix have announced Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third installment that will debut in 2025.
We first met the famed private detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) in 2019’s Knives Out when he was hired to investigate the death of best-selling author Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). Blanc teamed up with nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas) to uncover the truth in a twisted case filled with angry relatives, red herrings, and fabulous knitwear.
Blanc’s skills were called upon once more in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, when he headed to Greece to peel back the layers of intrigue surrounding tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) and an eclectic group of disruptors.
Blanc was last seen sitting on the beach of Bron’s estate on an idyllic Greek island, calmly pondering the chaotic events of his past few days.

Something is most definitely afoot in the Knives Out universe. Not a murder, though – at least, not just yet. Far more exciting than that, writer and director Rian Johnson has confirmed via social media that the title of the next Benoit Blanc movie, which sees Daniel Craig return as the dapper, drawling detective, will be Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
Johnson’s announcement came via a short teaser video, which includes a voiceover by Craig, in character as Blanc, reminding us of the movies so far. He says “In the beginning, the knives came out. Then behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.” Cue a shadowy version of a black coffin, before the Wake Up Dead Man title treatment appears. Given the lack of comma in those four words, their meaning is up to interpretation. Is this a plea,...
